Sports Directorate

The sports directorate strives to advocate for a vibrant culture of sports and promote an active lifestyle among students from Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. Beyond organising sporting events, the directorate aims to achieve this by:

  • Encouraging greater participation in sports among students
  • Providing a friendly and holistic environment for students to try multiple sports
  • Facilitating avenues for students to share their passion for sports
  • Fostering bonds with students from other faculties or universities

The directorate also aims to provide unwavering support towards the development of our athletes by providing them with the resources to train well, so that they can hone their abilities and soar to greater heights.

Above all, the sports directorate seeks to create a cohesive environment for students to forge unforgettable memories and bonds, while bringing greater vibrancy to the lives of medical and nursing students through sports.

The Sports Directorate supports medicine and nursing students with resources for them to excel in their sport and bring the Championship back home, to Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.

Continuous Initiatives

MedSIGs (Med Student Interest Groups)

Be it students who wish to explore and try new sports, students who have developed a hobby in a particular sport, or existing athletes who need a platform to hone their skills, our sports interest groups are welcome to all medical and nursing students! Through MedSIGs, the Sports Directorate hopes to encourage students to try new sports in a less competitive setting, while forging new friendships and keeping active. Sessions are hosted frequently by our respective sports captains, and many MedSIGs participants do eventually transition to form the IFG team.
