The Sports Directorate functions as
- Event Heads to ensure the successful execution of sports related events organised in YLLSoM in order to foster bonds between YLLSoM students and students from other faculties/universities, encourage sporting participation in YLLSoM Students and bring sporting glory to YLLSoM
- Logistics Heads to maintenance of sports-related assets in YLLSoM
- Sports Representatives to represent the sporting interests of the students, spread the spirit of sportsmanship and teamwork and maintainance of relations with other sporting institutions.
- Advocates that advise relevant Student Groups engaged in sports-related events.
Inter Faculty Games (August – September)
IFG is an annual sporting event that brings students together from the 11 different faculties to compete in over 23 sporting events. The Sports Directorate supports medical students with resources to excel in their sport and bring the Tan Chorh Chuan Challenge trophy back home, to Medicine.
MedNurse Games (January)
Annual sporting event between medical students of Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NTU Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, and nursing students from NUS Alice Lee Centre for Nursing Studies and other healthcare faculties.
These games exist as a mark of friendship and bonding between the various fields of healthcare students that come together in work and in play.
MedLaw Games (February – March)
Annual sporting event between students from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and NUS Faculty of Law.
These games serve as a representation of the years of friendship and forged ties between the two faculties, along with a little friendly competition.
MUNUS Games (May)
Annual sporting event between medical students from Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and Malaya University. The event is held in NUS Singapore and Malaya University, Kuala Lumpur on alternate years.
These games serve to represent the rich history between both schools and remind students of their deep-rooted, shared history.
Give it a Go (Jan)
Year by Year, Give-it-a-go serves as an opportunity for YLLSoM students to try their hands at less common sports.
In this years instalment of Give-it-a-go, we look forward to present sports such as rock-climbing and sailing.
