Public Relations Directorate
The Public Relations Director and the Public Relations Directorate is responsible for the conceptualisation of a consistent and professional NUS Medical Society brand personality in both physical and online products. This involves areas of merchandise innovation, photography, social media coverage and the design of publicity material. The Public Relations Director is also a point of liaison for enquires, answering queries and referring them to the appropriate parties if necessary.
The Public Relations Directorate offers coverage and publicity of school projects through social media, design of publicity material and if needed, the provision of photographers. The NUS Medical Society Facebook Page (NUS Medical Society) and Instagram page @nusmedsoc are managed by the Public Relations Directorate.
In addition, the Public Relations Directorate contributes to the Medical Society’s objective of student advocacy through initiatives such as Humans of NUS Medicine and student engagement events like the EOY Giveaway and school outreach initiatives.
The Public Relations Director also often serves as a point of contact for general enquiries from students, external companies and the public and refer specific enquires to the appropriate parties. The email of the Public Relations Director, email@example.com is also linked to the NUS Medical Society Facebook page and can be used to contact the director for the above reasons or enquires.
The Public Relations Directorate spearheaded projects such as Humans of NUS Medicine, student engagement initiatives like the End of Year Giveaway and school outreach programme, as well as representing the society in public events such as the annual NUS Open Day.
Humans of NUS Medicine
An initiative that debuted on November 16th 2016, features students, staff, alumni and professors of NUS Medicine weekly on the NUS Medical Society social media pages. It aims to uncover the human side of medical students, staff, doctors and educators, acknowledging and advocating the uniqueness of each individual in the NUS Medicine family. The Public Relations Director can be contacted for nominations at firstname.lastname@example.org
Student Engagement (End of Year Giveaway)
An Instagram lucky draw was held on the last 10 days of school of the year (preclinical calendar) where 10 lucky students walked away with limited edition Medicine Laptop Sleeves. The students were asked questions based on the theme of “End of Year” and were featured on our social media pages.
NUS Open Day
The Public Relations Directorate takes charge of representing NUS Medical Society during the annual NUS Open Day at our booth at the NUS University Town Student Village. Through publicity materials, merchandise and booth games, the Public Relations Directorate hopes to showcase the vibrant student life in NUS Medicine to prospective students and the public.
A programme targeted at pre-university students, the Public Relations Directorate hopes to give prospective students an insight into NUS Medicine curriculum and our dynamic student life through talks and presentations by our own medical students. The Public Relations Director can be contacted at email@example.com for matters regarding outreach.
